After
One produce well crafted semi jangly pop with a melancholy center and
long flowing notes.
The
title track (Burden Of Knowing) particularly seems like a major label bid,
with tight productionand drama ripe for a video.
Some
swirly effects, a little of the psych-pop feel of era's gone by, with every corner populated
with something complimentary to the song. I think this is among the best
indie-pop things I've heard in a long time. As a big bonus, there's a
spaghetti surf instro called "Fistful Of Reverb" that's moody and
oozing
bullfight drama, plus a picturesque instrumental that's like a soaring
Euro-prog movie for your ears.
Picks: Fistful of Reverb, Little Spanish Fly Wing
"Fistful
of Reverb"
* * * *
Opening with a sad bullfight scene, "Fistful of Reverb" suddenly
picks up
it's pace with great piano and guitar, and a trumpet heralding the glory of
the ring. This is a very well crafted piece, dramatic, artful, and full of
life. It's like a movie, layered with dissolving scenes of action and
courage.

"Little Spanish Fly Wing"
* * *
"Little Spanish Fly Wing" is a picturesque instrumental that's like
a
soaring Euro-prog movie for your ears. Long leaning notes, classical piano,
sad scenes, big sound, and evolving conflict and drama. Not a drop of surf,
just serious listening dramatic music that's full and emotional.

KXLU FM Surfwave August 2001
'played "Fistfull of Reverb" in the first set. Had many people
in the station bopping along and wondering "who's doing that tune?"
I'm
looking forward to spinning the rest of the disc at home this weekend.
The musicianship and production quality on just the one song i've heard
thus far is superb - congratulations to you all on your efforts. You can
count on plenty of airplay on Surfwave!
Keep up the good work and let's keep in touch.

Little
Spanish Fly Wing/Wheel See Records
This is a one song CD. A guitar very reminiscent of Clapton in the Domino's
days, thickly layered keyboards, and drums and bass breathing as one make
up this fiery instrumental. Although the title suggests Clapton or Hendrix,
I can also feel a lot of Roy Buchanon and some Dickey Betts thrown in here
too.
A well produced and tasty little appetizer, I look forward to the full project.

BURDEN OF KNOWING
'I can't remember the last time I heard something this good. I
could listen to this for hours... everything about the track just
screams, sign me or i'll kick the living s^%t out of you.' CARCASS
'Power-poppin' blues style that gets all psychedelic. Really like
this cut, they just don't write-em enough like this any more. Well
done arrangement.'
NO SALE
'Has a very infectious beat to it. Very tastefully done... reminds
me of early Cars or Bowie.. Well constructed and executed.'
FISTFUL OF REVERB
'I'm hearing some awesome stuff. I'm hearing Dire Straits
influence, Surftones, Los Lobos... Epic sounding and involving,
this band has some serious talent... I have faith in this band. I
wonder why they aren't more famous than they are... '

eclectic and major label quality

Record companies take note: This disc rocks. Tight sounds, huge drums and
guitars, baritone guitars and
special guest musicians and singers that take you on a journey with producer
and audio engineer Mike Sosna
who recorded and mixed the record at SOS PRODUCTIONS, NY
www.sosproductions.com with warm analog
psychedelic kickin treats and ear-candy everywhere. Sosna works with the bomb
Divas and on music for
television projects with Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Bebe
and Cece Winans. The mixes are
eclectic and major label quality. The music is written by the members of After
One (afterone.net) and these
are no-nonsense tunes that have lyrics that matter and music that moves. The
project was mastered by
Michael Sosna and me, Marc Dannat at
Manhasset
Bay Associates, Inc. a Member of the SOS ENTERPRISES GROUP
in Port Washington NY. Listen to this record. I highly recommend The Burden
Of Knowing, and the two
instrumentals- Fistful of Reverb, and Little Spanish Fly Wing and the huge
guitar sounds on Psychic Desire kill!

AFTER ONE - Self Titled Debut CD/ Wheel See Records
"The opening riff of Loyalty managed to spook me with its dark repeating
opening lick. Lead singer Patty has a cool delivery that works well with the
loose delivery of the band. There are shades of early Airplane and Yardbirds
mixed with the occasional surf guitar from purgatory. The songs are simple
and they're presented in a to-the-point fashion. My favorite track is Since
When with its slightly Johnette Napolitano feel. - November 1996
